About this work
A watercolor pomological study by Deborah Griscom Passmore, dated 1896, shows a dark purple whole plum above a halved plum revealing amber flesh and a central brown pit. The fruit is rendered against a plain cream background within a thin ruled border, with a handwritten inventory number and the variety name and grower location noted below.
