About this work
A watercolor pomological study shows several glossy red cherries with green stems, including one cut in half to reveal its pale flesh and central pit. The sheet is labeled with an inventory number, the cultivar name "Hortense," the Geneva Experiment Station in Geneva, N.Y. and the artist's signature with dates in 1916. The composition is arranged on cream paper within a thin ruled border.
