About this work
A watercolor study shows a halved avocado with its large brown seed exposed, surrounded by yellow flesh and a green skin, with two detached slices of the rind shown beside it. Handwritten notes in the margins give a number, the variety name Trapp, and a location in Miami, Florida, along with the artist's initials and dates in 1916. This is a pomological painting by Amanda Almira Newton in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
