About this work
A painted pomological study shows a single oval avocado with dark green skin covered in small brown spots and a pale highlight on one side. The fruit is centered on a cream paper ground, with handwritten inscriptions below naming the variety 'Taft' and the grower C. P. Taft of Orange, California, along with the artist's initials and dates.
