About this work
A watercolor of a halved Baldwin avocado shows the green and yellow flesh, brown skin edge, and large mottled seed at center, rendered on cream paper with a pencil border. The handwritten label records the variety, Mrs. E. S. Rolfs of Miami, Dade Co. Fla. and the artist's initials with a 1906 date.
