About this work
A watercolor study shows a single red apple with mottled spots and streaks of darker red, a brown stem, and a few small green buds or sepals clustered at the top. Marion Shull, dated 1910, is held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection at the National Agricultural Library.
