About this work
A watercolor study of a strawberry sprig shows several ripe red berries and one unripe pale green berry hanging from thin green stems with serrated leaves. Handwritten notations on the mount read "Ella" with the date May 18, 1894, and "Department Grounds, Washington, D.C." with the signature D.G. Passmore, consistent with the record for Deborah Griscom Passmore, 1894.
