About this work
A watercolor study shows a cross-section of a Yamato persimmon in warm red-orange tones, with radiating pale flesh lines and several grey-brown seeds arranged around a central core. Handwritten pencil notes beneath the image read 'section of Yamato' and 'Drawn from Nature & Col'd by Wm. H. Prestele, Oct. 21st 1889.' The work is part of the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection and is attributed to William Henry Prestele.
