A watercolor study shows a whole apple with red and yellow-green striped skin and a cut half revealing pale flesh and brown seeds. Handwritten inscriptions on the sheet give the catalogue number 77922, the variety name Swan, F.J. Schwan of Dansville, N.Y. and the artist's initials M. Strange with dates from 1915.
