About this work
A watercolor study by Deborah Griscom Passmore, dated 1905, shows two apples rendered on cream paper, one above the other, with soft cast shadows beneath. The upper apple has red and yellow-green striping, while the lower apple is a deeper red with yellow patches and visible stem. Handwritten catalogue numbers and the artist's signature appear in the margins.
