About this work
A watercolor study shows a whole red apple with a visible stem and speckled skin above a halved apple revealing its white flesh and dark seeds. Handwritten inscriptions at the bottom give the catalogue number 19414, the variety name Van Feedenberg, and the grower H.A. Van Feedenberg of Port Jervis, Orange Co. N.Y. The signature of Deborah Griscom Passmore and the date 1900 appear in the lower right corner.
