About this work
A watercolor study of a single bright orange-red fruit with a short woody stem and green-brown calyx leaves at the top, shown centered on a cream page. The fruit is rendered with soft highlights and small dark speckles, in the style of a pomological record. The work is attributed to Amanda Almira Newton and dated 1917 in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
