About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a whole red apple above a cross-section revealing its cream flesh, seed cavity and dark seeds. The handwritten label identifies the variety as Smith Cider, grown by W. C. Broome in Wasatch, Mpton, Utah, with a catalogue number and dates in January and February 1912. The work is attributed to Amanda Almira Newton and is part of the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
