About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a whole red apple with a five-pointed calyx viewed from above, and below it a halved apple revealing its pale flesh, core, and seeds. The sheet carries handwritten inscriptions with an inventory number, the variety name "Seedless", the location Grand Junction, Mesa Co. Colo. and the artist's name with dates of November 1904 and January 1905. This record is part of the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection, painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore in 1905.
