About this work
A pomological watercolor shows a whole red apple with yellow-green blush above a cut half revealing white flesh, a core, and dark brown seeds. The sheet bears handwritten labels for the variety Red Cheese, a grower named L. B. Moore in Warren Co. Va. and the artist's signature Amanda Almira Newton with a 1908 date.
