About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a whole red apple with a visible stem above and a halved apple beneath it, revealing white flesh, a central core and dark seeds. Handwritten inscriptions give the variety name, grower details in Everton, Dade Co. Mo. and the artist's name with dates of 1906 and 2.3.06 on the sheet. The work is attributed to Deborah Griscom Passmore and is held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
