About this work

A pen and wash drawing with colour touches shows a landscape under a stormy sky, where wind bends the large trees in the foreground. Riders, a figure on foot with dogs, and a pack animal travel along a road, while a building with smoke rises on a hill in the distance. The work is attributed to Dirk Maas and is held by the Städel Museum.
