About this work
This pencil drawing is a title page design with a central inscribed cartouche topped by a mask ornament, surrounded by winged figures, nude forms, and putti in clouds. Two circular medallions at the sides frame seated figures, and the lower register shows a tangle of nude bodies. The work is Titelblatt for "Aus dem Leben eines Wüstlings" by Bonaventura Genelli, dated 1845, held by the Städel Museum.
