About this work
A pencil drawing presents a panoramic view of the town of Gladenbach, with a dense cluster of roofs and half-timbered houses centered on a church with twin spires. Rolling hills and a distant hilltop recede into the hazy background, while a foreground roof and sloping fields frame the scene. The sheet is dated 1838 and was made by Jakob Fürchtegott Dielmann.
