About this work

A pencil drawing in profile shows a young woman with short, waved hair turned to the left, her eye lowered and her neck and shoulders partly visible. The soft graphite shading models the face, hair and neck against the cream-toned paper. Hermann Lismann made this drawing, titled Bildnis Sofia Dorothea Weyel, in 1932, and it is held by the Städel Museum.
