About this work
A pen and grey wash drawing shows a monumental church facade with a central portico of Corinthian columns and a statue above, set between two symmetrical wings with pedimented end pavilions. A twisted spire rises behind the building, and a stone quay with bollards runs along the foreground, where two small figures walk. The sheet is by Jacques-François Blondel and is held by the Städel Museum.
