About this work
A pencil drawing shows the hilltop town of Terracina, with clustered rooftops, a church tower and tall palm trees in the foreground. Dense shrubs and a sloping hillside lead the eye toward a fortified building on the right and a flat landscape stretching to the horizon. The work is by Friedrich Eisenlohr, dated 1828, and is held by the Städel Museum.
