A pencil drawing shows the ruined Gothic arches and stone walls of the Chapel of St. Nicholas at St. Valery, overgrown with ivy and foliage. Trees frame the scene at the right, and a handwritten inscription in the lower right reads "chapel St Nicholas, Abbaye St Valery, Aug. 1862." The work is by Miner Kilbourne Kellogg and is held by the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
