A half-length portrait shows a young man in a black velvet cap decorated with gold cords, pearls and a feather plume. He wears a gold-embroidered striped doublet with buttons, a white lace ruff and a dark jacket with jeweled trim against a dark background. This painting by Cristóvão de Morais, dated 1565, is held in the Royal Collection.
