About this work

Two long-haired Skye terriers stand in a richly furnished room, one balanced on a red velvet-upholstered wooden stool while the other rises on its hind legs toward it. A patterned red textile covers a bench behind them, and a glass vase of flowers and a framed painting hang on the striped wall. This 1875 painting by Otto Weber, titled Dot and Cairnach, Skye terriers, is held in the Royal Collection.
