This oil study depicts a bearded man in a white turban and an orange-red shawl, seated and turned toward the viewer, with pale marks on his forehead. Loose, visible brushwork renders the folds of the cloth against a warm brown ground. The work is titled Ramanandi, painted by Rudolf Swoboda in 1886, and is held in the Royal Collection.
