This painting by Johann Heinrich Schönfeld, dated 1647, depicts the Crucifixion with three crosses rising against a dim, stormy sky, the central figure illuminated by a bright halo of light. Soldiers gamble and gather at the lower left while a kneeling woman in pink and a standing figure in green and red mourn at the foot of the central cross. The work is held by the Princeton University Art Museum.
