This hanging scroll by Gao Qipei, titled Bamboo and Sparrows, shows two small sparrows perched on a slender bamboo stalk that rises diagonally across the brownish silk ground. Dark ink leaves cluster near the lower right, and an inscription in running script with red seal impressions appears at the lower left. The work is held in the Princeton University Art Museum collection.
