The painting shows the Virgin Mary seated on a donkey holding the infant Christ, while an older man with a staff leads the animal along a path. Cherubs and angels hover above and below, and a palm tree and distant figures appear in the landscape. The work is a painting by Manuel de Castro dated 1697 and held by the Museo del Prado.
