About this work
An interior scene in which a woman in a green and cream gown writes at a draped table while a woman in a white satin dress with gold trim gestures toward the paper, watched by a bald older man and several bearded men in period dress. The room features an ornate carved wooden door, a tapestry, and upholstered armchairs. Francisco Jover y Casanova painted this work in 1871, and it is held by the Museo del Prado.
