About this work

A small oil painting shows the Holy Family resting in a formal garden, with the Virgin seated in a shaded arbor and Saint Joseph standing beside her gesturing toward a group of playful putti. Clipped hedges, trellises, orange trees and a distant garden pavilion frame the scene under a broad, cloudy sky.
