About this work

A pen and brown ink drawing with brown wash shows a long arcaded colonnade lined with Ionic columns, receding toward a corner. Elegantly dressed figures stroll and gather across the paved floor, and a statue stands in a niche beyond. The inscription at upper left reads "Marechal an 1786".
