About this work
This watercolor depicts a view down the Rue Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire, with a long stone building, a slate-roofed clock tower, and a steep gabled roof with a tall chimney cluster. Pedestrians walk along the pavement and a horse-drawn cart travels the roadway under a pale, cloudy sky. The work is titled Rue Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire (la Pitié), was made in 1908, and is attributed to René Leverd.
