About this work
A 19th-century French poster advertises the Concert Parisien at Faubourg Saint-Denis 37, with bold display lettering set over a salmon-orange ground. Two identical exaggerated caricature figures of a hunchbacked man with a large nose, voluminous curled hair and gloved hands dominate the composition, framing the name CHAILLIER. The text announces nightly varied entertainment, Sunday daytime concerts and free admission, and was produced in 1885.
