About this work
This 1899 poster for the Automobile Club de France advertises the 2nd International Automobile Exhibition in the Jardin des Tuileries, held from 15 June to 9 July. A winged female figure stands beside an anvil and holds a hammer, with automobile engine parts, gears and a wheel in the foreground and a triumphal arch on the horizon. The text is set in a decorative border with a club emblem.
