About this work
A colorful French lithographic poster advertises a double high school equestrian act at the Folies-Bergère circus garden. Two female riders in red military-style jackets and tricorn hats perform on a black and a chestnut horse within a circular arena, while a seated audience in top hats and period dress watches beneath chandeliers and a central fountain. The poster is an anonymous French work from 1900 held by the Musée Carnavalet, Paris.
