About this work

A colorful lithographic poster advertising the Concert de l'Horloge at the Champs-Élysées as the only summer concert covered in case of rain. A large yellow and green patterned snake coils around a tree trunk, with a child's face peering out at the top and a man's portrait in an oval medallion at lower right. The poster is dated 1883 and was produced anonymously in France.
