About this work
A man stands beside two dark horses harnessed to a sleigh in a snowy winter scene at dusk. A small lit window glows in a cabin in the background, while a sled lies on the snow in the foreground. Frederic Remington's print "The End of the Day," dated 1904, shows this muted blue-toned nocturnal scene.
