About this work
A colored political cartoon shows Uncle Sam standing between two curved display cases, one labeled Democratic Majority and the other Republican Minority, each with a figure of Uncle Sam inside. The figure in the left case appears bloated and cheerful, while the figure in the right case looks gaunt and anxious, pressed against a column. Two small politicians gesture from the corners of the room. Udo Keppler produced this print in 1913, and it was published by The Puck Press.
