About this work
A colour lithographic caricature shows a large sailing ship labeled Life Insurance tossed by green waves, crowded with exaggerated figures, including a man in a blue coat marked Pres. and a white goat labeled The Goat at the centre. Several men on the ship's bow plank are labeled as clerks and workers, and a bearded figure is labeled Pension. Udo Keppler's print, dated 1905, is a political satire in the style of the Puck magazine.
