About this work
A colored political cartoon by Udo Keppler, dated 1913, shows a night street lined with signs labeled Crooked Business, Food Adulteration, Public Land Graft and The Pork Barrel. A uniformed police officer and a man in a fedora walk forward in the foreground while figures in top hats, one marked Tariff Graft, lurk in a doorway and shadowed windows watch from above.
