About this work
A color lithograph shows a woman in a pink robe raising a yellow banner reading Woman Suffrage, while a wild-haired, grimacing figure in a dark ragged cloak runs forward carrying a lit torch and a bomb-like fuse, with a sash labeled militant. The composition contrasts the banner-bearing woman with the frenzied figure against a blue and purple sky. The work is attributed to Udo Keppler and dated 1913.
