About this work
A colorful political cartoon shows silhouetted cavalry troops charging toward a hillside battle beneath a yellow sky. A mounted figure in red brandishes a sword at the right, while a large caricatured face appears in the clouds above, and labels on the hills mark a national battery and a heavy artillery position. The print is the 1910 work The charge of the Black Brigade by Udo Keppler.
