About this work
A caricature shows a donkey and an elephant tethered together by a rope to a red stake labeled "Publicity," with a man in a pink shirt inscribed "Bryan" swinging a mallet to drive the stake and a second man pulling the elephant back. The scene is set in an open field with trees and distant mountains. This 1908 print by Udo Keppler is titled "Tethered."
