About this work
A richly colored political caricature shows a Christmas tree lit with candles in a crowded Victorian interior, surrounded by gifts and caricatured figures. A woman in a nightgown labeled Miss Democracy stands by a brass bed while a large brown bear figure lounges in the foreground. Udo Keppler created this print in 1907, and it was published in Puck.
