About this work
A colour lithographic caricature shows Uncle Sam in a star-spangled jacket and striped trousers standing in a boxing ring, gesturing toward two seated boxers in trunks while a row of suited men watches from behind the ropes. Flag bunting drapes the ring apron, and buckets and bottles sit in the corners.
