About this work
A colored political cartoon shows a young driver holding reins labeled Commerce, pulling a carriage whose passengers are an exporter and a farmer, while a brown horse labeled Protectionism struggles beside it. A wrecked carriage with an importer lies in the foreground beside a block labeled Dingley Tariff. Udo Keppler produced this print in 1899.
