About this work
A colored lithographic caricature shows a group of stern, uniformed European figures and a bearded Uncle Sam in striped trousers rushing forward through a dark space. Uncle Sam holds a glowing lantern labeled Prudence, while two bear-trap-like devices labeled Casus Belli lie on the ground. The work is a 1901 print by Udo Keppler.
