About this work

A richly colored lithograph shows a classical building engulfed in flames and smoke, with a figure labeled Knowledge sliding down a column while a jet of light streams toward a crowd gathered around a round table marked Vivisectional Research and Lifenet. Figures in the foreground brandish a hose and an axe inscribed Legislation, and the word Disease rises from the fire above the rooftop.
