About this work
A lone man in a dark suit stands with his back to the viewer on a lit floor, facing a dense swarm of staring eyes that fill the darkened sky. Floating labels among the eyes read words such as Alaska, Business, Labor, Child Labor, Congress, The People, Economy, and Office Seeker, while a large American flag hangs at the left. This 1913 print by Udo Keppler, held by the Portland museum, is a political cartoon in color lithography style.
